New Zealand’s Shaun Johnson scored one of three tries as his side wrapped up a 2-0 series win over Great Britain with a 23-8 victory. The Lions were hoping to land their first win of the tour in Christchurch on Saturday but instead they suffered a convincing defeat at the hands of the attacking Kiwis. Johnson, along with Joseph Manu and Ken Maumalo, all went over for the hosts, while Josh Hodgson could only score what proved to be a consolation try for the Lions. Having lost to an Invitational Tonga XIII and now suffering back-to-back defeats against New Zealand, head coach Wayne Bennett and his side are starring down the barrel of a whitewash of defeats Down Under. Great Britain have one last opportunity to put things right as they prepare to face Papua New Guinea on November 16 in Port Moresby before heading home. Leeds Rhinos winger Ash Handley has been called into the squad to feature in the final match, with injuries plaguing the Lions through the ill-fated tour.
