Chelsea midfielder Jorginho as stated that he would like to sign a new contract and extend his stay at the club.
The midfielder joined Chelsea from Napoli in 2018, and he has since recorded 207 appearances in all competitions, scoring 29 goals.
Jorginho has also played vital parts in the club’s Champions League and Europa League wins, making 12 outings on his way to win in European’s premier competition in 2020-21.
Despite being a regular under Graham Potter this season, the Italy international is set to leave the Blues in the summer.
The 31-year-old’s contract expires in just over six months, and it’s unknown whether the club’s new owners plan to extend it.
In addition to being well equipped with options in the centre of the pitch, it has already been stated that the club wishes to renew their midfield.
Jorginho acknowledged in an interview with talkSPORT on Thursday that he wants to remain at Chelsea, while insisting that he wanted to focus on his performances on the field.
Jorginho said: “Of course I do, I love Chelsea, but this is a thing I’m not going to think about now. I need to think about winning games. Otherwise it’s a problem.
“I’ll focus game by game and then we’ll see what’s going to happen, but my mind is on Chelsea now and trying to win as many games as possible.”

It has also been reported in the last 24 hours that Chelsea are on the verge of signing Brazilian prospect Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama.
While it is unknown if the 18-year-old will contend for a first-team spot right away, it is another indication that Chelsea is looking to make changes in that position.
