Jose Mourinho Eyeing Up Romelu Lukaku For First Fenerbahce Signing

Jose Mourinho wants to sign Romelu Lukaku again, with the Chelsea veteran now managing Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Less than 24 hours after his appearance in the Champions League final, the Special One arrived in Istanbul for his official unveiling, where he was met by several thousand noisy fans.

The former Manchester United, Tottenham, and Real Madrid manager has signed a two-year contract with Fenerbahce, with the goal of capturing the club’s first league title since 2014.

To do this, the club is willing to provide major support to the 61-year-old, albeit who they target may be determined by the outcome of the club’s next presidential election.Reported by football.co.

Aziz Yildirim, who was in control for 20 years until 2018, is attempting to remove current manager Ali Koc, and told reporters in Istanbul that he has already spoken with Mourinho about potential prospects.

He mentioned three names, saying, “I mentioned the players.” We mentioned Lukaku. and mentioned [Paulo] Dybala and [Anderson] Talisca.

We keep the rest for ourselves. I’ll inform you after I’m elected.

Lukaku has previously played under Mourinho at three different clubs: Chelsea, United, and Roma, the latter of which was on loan from the Blues last season.

It appeared to be a pleasant reunion, with the striker scoring 21 goals and providing four assists in 47 games.

The Belgian international has just two years left on his Chelsea contract, which he signed when he returned to West London in a record-breaking deal in 2021, and has no plans to return to Stamford Bridge.

At his unveiling, he told fans: ‘I want to thank you for your love. The love I felt from the first moment my name was connected with Fenerbahce.
