Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has earned the utmost “respect” of Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, for turning around his fortunes at the Emirates Stadium.
The German, who has praised the north London club ahead of Sunday’s match between the Premier League’s heavyweights, is also impressed by the Gunners’ attacking prowess.
Arsenal, the Reds’ opponents this weekend, have won seven of their first eight league games and are now leading the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Liverpool sit 9th after just two league victories, 11 points adrift of the leaders – although with a game in hand.
Given that Arteta’s team lost to another top six challenger, Manchester United, before the break, the match at the Emirates is expected to be a good test for them.
Regardless of the outcome of the match, Klopp thinks the Gunners are a team to respect given their progression from last season’s bottom of the table to their current position at the top.
What Did Klopp Say?
Arteta hasn’t had the smoothest ride since taking over at Arsenal, with the former Gunners captain facing heavy criticism and having to make several tough decisions.
However, this season, Arsenal are a side full of a confidence, and Klopp thinks Arteta is getting the best out of his attacking stars, who the German has always rated, this season.

“All my respect, wow!” Klopp told the media ahead of the game,” Klopp said.
“Really good job from Mikel. When you need time, nobody wants to give you it. I have to say, a lot of respect.”
“A lot of talent…Martinelli. I was excited about him early, Odegaard, I spoke to him at 15 in Norway with his dad. Saka… ooof!
“And Gabriel Jesus, Mikel could see how good he could be not in a Man City shirt. Thomas Partey, everyone saw how good he was at Atletico Madrid. Lots of quality.

“A young, exciting team doing really well. Now we go there and we don’t think about [past results].”
Last season, Gabriel Jesus was part of the City squad that pipped Klopp’s Liverpool to the title. However, the Reds boss was full of compliments for the striker and says he’s pleased to see Jesus used in his natural position at Arsenal.
“I always liked Gabriel Jesus as a player. Exceptional player, you always saw that at Man City.”
“His role at City was a No.9 or a winger, everyone said last season City had no No.9, but he was still there! Now he plays his role. He’s flying and full of confidence. Top class.”
