Liverpool’s post-Jurgen Klopp era has begun, as new head coach Arne Slot settles in. The renowned German strategist has been enjoying his time away from the arduous pre-season preparations after nine great years at Anfield.

In May, the 57-year-old said an emotional farewell to everyone linked with the Reds after a promising Premier League season came to an end. After a year apart, Champions League football returned with a record-extending 10th League Cup and a third-place result.

Many fans feared Klopp’s departure after the shocking revelation in January. Since then, the former Borussia Dortmund head coach has taken to social media, providing supporters with updates on his first months away from football since 2015.

The European Championships, which were hosted in Klopp’s home country of Germany, concluded last week. During the month-long competition, the 57-year-old’s country faced three of his former players: Andy Robertson of Scotland, Xherdan Shaqiri of Switzerland, and Dominik Szoboszlai of Hungary, who became the youngest-ever Euros captain.

Klopp was on sponsorship duties prior to the final, attending an event in Berlin in connection with Adidas, who hosted a party ahead of Sunday’s final, with the German among the major personalities in attendance.

On Instagram, Klopp provided insight into some of the stars that were at the Olympiastadion on Sunday to see England’s 2-1 loss to Spain. He wrote on his blog: “Some impressions and some great people from last night.”
