Juventus director Beppe Marotta has played down reports linking Massimiliano Allegri to Arsenal, insisting that the Italian club and coach are eager to continue working with each other.
Reports over the weekend suggested that Allegri was in contact with Arsenal over a move to the Emirates Stadium as a potential replacement for Arsene Wenger.
The speculation saw the odds shortened on Allegri becoming the next boss at the north London club and ending his three year stint as manager of the Old Lady.
But Marotta has moved to deny the links between the 49-year-old and the Premier League club, saying that Allegri is happy to continue his project with Juventus.
The director is eager for the two sides to continue their working relationship as Juventus look to claim another Serie A title.
Marotta said (via Metro): “Allegri has a contract with us and I reaffirm we have an excellent rapport which has brought us great success.
“We want to continue growing with him. Even without the fact there is a contract, there are no reasons to start creating problems. We are happy with him and he is happy with us.”
Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal for 20 years now but hasn’t won the Premier League since 2004. His side suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to Watford on Tuesday.
