Juventus are reportedly ready to scrap it out with Real Madrid for Ballon d’Or nominee Kylian Mbappe. The 20-year-old is regarded as the brightest young star in world football and has enjoyed an incredible start to his professional career.
Mbappe made his senior debut with Monaco in December 2015 aged 16 years and 347 days, breaking Thierry Henry’s record for the youngest player to appear for the club.
He went on to net his first goal for the Principality outfit in February 2016 but failed to add to his tally by the end of the campaign as he had to make do with appearances from the bench.
The hitman shot to prominence in 2016-17 when he became a more regular fixture, hitting 26 goals in 44 games, as Monaco won the title.
Paris Saint-Germain came knocking in the summer of 2017 and he joined the French giants on-loan, with a fee of around 180million euros to be handed over to make the switch permanent at the end of the term.
The World Cup winner has continued to develop at the Parc des Princes, scoring 66 times in 95 outings, and his consistency has led to widespread interest across the continent.
Real Madrid have had an eye on the striker for the past few years and are understood to be considering a summer bid, however, the latest reports coming out of Italy suggest they will face stiff competition from Juventus.
Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the leading man in Turin but the Old Lady see Mbappe as his long-term successor as they look to enjoy success in Europe.
The report states that a deal for Mbappe could cost in the region of £328million, including wages, but his stature in the game would likely see them recoup most, if not all, of that outlay through sponsorship and shirt sales.
