Juventus have confirmed that they have sold Paul Pogba to Man United for a world-record fee of €105 million (£89m). Furthermore, the fee may rise by to €110m should the midfielder and the Red Devils activate particular clauses payments.
Pogba, 23, was heavily linked with a transfer to Man United over the summer but in the last week or so, the Red Devils ramped up their interest with midfielder finishing his holiday in the United States following his excursions at Euro 2016 with France.
And now Juventus has confirmed on their official website that Man United have broken the world transfer record to bring Pogba back to Man United. The Serie A giants confirmed that Man United will pay €105 (£89m) for the midfielder and the fee will be paid over two years.
Furthermore, the Old Lady also confirmed that the fee will rise by €5m, should the midfielder and Man United activate the agreed clauses between the two clubs.
Juventus’ official statement read: “Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement has been finalized with Manchester United Football Club Limited for the definitive transfer of the registration rights of the player Paul Labile Pogba for a consideration of € 105 million to be paid in two financial years. The consideration may increase of € 5 million on achieving given conditions in the course of the duration of the contract. The economic effect is positive for about € 72.6 million, net of solidarity subsidy and auxiliary expenses.”
“I am delighted to rejoin United,” said Pogba. “It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with Jose Mourinho.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Juventus and have some fantastic memories of a great club with players that I count as friends.
“But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford. I always enjoyed playing in front of the fans and can’t wait to make my contribution to the team. This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game.”
