Juventus Submit First Offer For Liverpool Target

Juventus have reportedly submitted a bid for Atalanta midfielder, Teun Koopmeiners and are awaiting a response from the Bergamo outfit.

The 26-year-old Dutchman is said to be Thiago Motta’s ideal match for his new project in the Piedmont city, making him the Bianconeri’s top target for the summer transfer window.

During the previous season, he excelled with la Dea, with seven assists and 15 goals in 51 games.

Although Koopmeiners and Juventus reached a personal terms agreement back in May, no deal has yet been reached with Atalanta.

Koopmeiners is expected to sign a five-year contract worth about €4.5 million net per season with add-ons. Before making their offer, the Old Lady waited to sell Dean Huijsen and Matias Soule.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are eager to sign Koopmeiners and have formally made Atalanta an offer of €45 million for the Dutch midfielder. It is unclear whether La Dea will be prepared to drop their expectations, as they are rumored to have set a price tag of €60 million.

The 26-year-old stated in March that he wanted to leave Bergamo this summer. But Luca Percassi, the CEO of Atalanta, stated that the club was not thinking about selling.

Koopmeiners has been a subject of interest from Liverpool earlier in the summer. New Reds boss, Arne Slot will be tasked with the challenge of replicating Jurgen Klopp’s legacy at the club.
