N’Golo Kante has revealed he will not make any decision on his future until after Euro 2016 with the Leicester City midfielder linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium.
Kante only joined the Foxes last summer but a fantastic campaign from the 25 -year-old aided Leicester in claiming their first ever Premier League title.
Leicester are faced with losing their top scorer, Jamie Vardy, this summer, with Arsenal expected to complete a deal on Monday. The Gunners will activate Vardy’s release clause, worth roughly £20 million, and the Foxes could also lose Kante in a similar situation.
With reports suggesting he his own £20m release clause, Kante could have his pick of top clubs across Europe to sign for this summer but the former Caen player has said he won’t be making any decision until after this summer’s European Championships.
Kante’s never-ending drive and pressing was a huge aspect of this season’s success and Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the midfielder, while former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal was a big admirer before being replaced by Jose Mourinho.
Kante’s form earned him his first France cap in March and manager Didier Deschamps has picked the Leicester man in his 23-player squad for the tournament.
Kante is prepared to wait until after the competition to make his decision, but has admitted he would prefer a club playing in the Champions League, such as Leicester.
Speaking to the reporters after France’s 3-0 win over Scotland on Saturday, Kante said: “I am a Leicester player. For now, I have not taken a decision even if I have been made offers.
“It will be great to play in the Champions League. I will decide my future after the Euros.”
Kante played in all but one of Leicester’s league matches in their title winning season and was named in the PFA Team of the Season for his efforts.
