One of the former teammates of the Portuguese has now responded to the comments that generated a lot of online discussion.
Perhaps surprise, Benzema disagrees that his former Real Madrid teammate is the greatest football player in history.
TNT Sports BR (via Marca) questioned him about Ronaldo’s remarks earlier this week.
“Everyone expresses their opinions. If he believes he is the greatest ever.
For instance, it’s Ronaldo, the Brazilian, in my opinion. I prefer not to compare players since I believe that each one has a unique story and is excellent.
Benzema also discussed Vinicius Junior, another former Real Madrid player.
The 37-year-old had nothing but kind things to say about the Brazilian great, who he hopes will win the Ballon d’Or in the upcoming years after controversially missing out in 2024, in contrast to Casemiro’s recent comments.
During their time together at Real Madrid, Benzema and Vinicius were a productive duo and it seems that their connection has held up well even after the former left for Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023, reports Espana.
It would be intriguing to observe if this contributes to the Brazilian’s potential decision to relocate to the Middle East.
