Kelly ready for first-team bow at Bournemouth

Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly says he cannot wait to make his Premier League debut after a slow start to the campaign. The 21-year-old joined the Cherries in May after the south coast club agreed to pay Bristol City £13million for his services.
Kelly signed a long-term contract at the Vitality Stadium, and the England Under-21 international was expected to form part of Eddie Howe’s defence this season.
However, the youngster suffered an ankle injury at the start of pre-season, and has only featured in the Hampshire Senior Cup against Basingstoke and the Carabao Cup against Burton Albion.
Kelly has been given time to build his fitness back up and settle into his new surroundings, and he is confident he can soon make a big impression.
Howe has included him in his last three matchday squads against Arsenal, Norwich and Watford, and Kelly says he is chomping at the bit to get out on the pitch.
He told the Daily Echo: “I have been working on it pretty much the whole of my life to get to the Premier League and, that day, when it comes to make my debut, it will be a really proud moment for me and my family. “I have settled in really well. The whole area is a nice place – luckily I signed in the summer when the sun was shining and things like that. It was nice to settle in at the right time. “I knew Dom Solanke, Aaron Ramsdale, Lewis Cook (through England youth setups) and things like that – so they helped me.”
Kelly will be hoping to keep his place on the bench for the clash with Manchester United on Saturday afternoon. The Cherries will welcome the Red Devils to the south coast before further games against Newcastle United, Wolves, Tottenham and Crystal Palace.
