Kieran McKenna Reacts To Chelsea And Manchester United Talk

Kieran McKenna has stated that Ipswich has a “positive future” despite ties with Chelsea FC and Manchester United.

The manager has led the Suffolk club to back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League, returning to England’s top flight for the first time in almost two decades.

McKenna has, however, stated that he is not concerned with links to other teams.

“Look, the club has had such a positive season and has such a bright future ahead,” McKenna told Sky Sports after receiving his LMA trophy. “We’ve accomplished so much; it’s been a fantastic two years. When you achieve that kind of success, there is always speculation and the like, which we see every summer.

“But I know how much everyone is looking forward to the season; the club is on the right track, and everyone is excited about what’s to come.

“I know what we’ve achieved isn’t a normal thing so there’s always going to be speculation. But that’s not where my focus is… tonight is about what we’ve achieved over the last couple of seasons.

“It’s been a wonderful couple of years so tonight is about celebrating that. I know everyone is looking forward to next season and I know the club is going to be in a really good place going into that season.”
