Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on James Milner by claiming the midfielder is in the top five players he has ever worked with as a coach.
Milner’s role at Liverpool has changed drastically since his moved to the club on a free transfer from Manchester City last season.
The 30-year-old is most comfortable in centre-midfield but has played on the flanks for the Reds and this campaign has found a new, unorthodox home at left-back in the starting XI.
Milner has regularly performed well and without complaint in the defensive role to help the Merseyside outfit compete for the title this season.
And Klopp has hailed his No.7’s professionalism while working with him this campaign, saying Milner is towards the top of the list when it comes to players he’s coached during his career.
According to the Mirror, Klopp said: “I have nothing bad to say about any of my players, but he is certainly in the top five.
“I have been very lucky to surround myself with great professionals, but Milly is 100 per cent in the TOP five. Yes, he is the perfect professional.”
Milner has been a consistent aspect of the Reds’ team this season, scoring five goals in 14 league outings.
