Klopp Says Two Injury Returnees Look ‘Very Good’ In Training Ahead Atalanta Clash

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp said Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota made an impression in training ahead of the Reds’ UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash against Atalanta.

The Reds’ 2-2 draw with Manchester United cost them first place in the Premier League, but they are still in the running.

But for the time being, attention is now on the Europa League, where Liverpool play Atalanta under Gian Piero Gasperini tonight at Anfield.

Now, Klopp has offered some commentary on what he observed during Liverpool’s practice this week.

Despite missing a number of his star players at different points during the season, Klopp has been able to maintain his team’s competitiveness in the Premier League and Europa League.

Now, there has been some good news in the Merseyside camp during the season run-in with some players returning from injury lay-offs.

Diogo Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold are two examples of these players.

Due to knee injuries, both of them have been sidelined since February. Although the Reds have performed admirably without them, having them on hand is a huge advantage.

Jota and Alexander-Arnold are back in training, Klopp stated at a press conference held prior to the match against Atalanta.

The good news for Reds supporters is that the German went on to say that both players performed admirably during the Tuesday session as well, TBRFootball reported.

Klopp said, as per Liverpool’s official website: “So, obviously we didn’t rush it with the boys. You can but we didn’t, that means they did a lot of training by themselves, especially Diogo and Trent, [they] worked as a group for two or three weeks really properly training.

“So, [they] looked very good yesterday (Tuesday), to be honest.”
