Ibrahima Konate took some time to himself in an empty Anfield after taking part in Liverpool celebrations as champions. Following a crushing win over Tottenham, the Reds clinched the Premier League title.
The Reds won the Premier League for the second time in five years, but it was Konate’s first since joining the team in 2021 from RB Leipzig.
Along with Virgil van Dijk, the Frenchman has made a name for himself as a key member of the starting lineup this season.
The success for Liverpool was especially meaningful to Konate, who has grown accustomed to coming second. He’s continuously lost both at the club and international levels since his arrival at Anfield.

Konate and Liverpool lost to Manchester City on the last day of the Premier League title chase in his debut season on Merseyside. They advanced to the Champions League final that year, but Real Madrid defeated them.
A few months later, Konate played for France at the World Cup in Qatar, switching from red to blue. The Frenchman’s losing streak continued as Les Bleus, the reigning champions, lost to Argentina in a penalty shootout in the final match.
However, he can now relax knowing that he has climbed the mountain with Liverpool, who had been leading for months and were predicted to win the trophy in May.
With four games remaining in the season, they have successfully affirmed their title as champions.
