Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is not happy with the way the Gunners keep starting games recently after going behind early to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.
The Gunners opened their Champions League campaign with a 1-1 draw in Paris with Ligue 1 champions PSG, as Alexis Sanchez’s second-half equaliser cancelled out Edinson Cavani’s early opener.
It was the second game in a row in which Arsenal had gone behind to an early goal, only to rally and fight back to earn something from the game.
Koscielny, who scored an overhead kick against Southampton at the weekend, is annoyed how Arsenal keep starting matches and wants it fixed quickly.
“I think it’s a good point but we came here with our ambition and we wanted to have the three points, but when we start like this it’s difficult to play,” said Koscielny to BT Sport post-match.
“Maybe in the final third we didn’t find the right ball to score, but we came back. During the game against Southampton in the Premier League we slept and we need to change this in the future. We need to be strong from the first minute to the end.
“We did pretty well but if you start like this it’s difficult.”
The Gunners have had a somewhat sluggish start to the season as, other than a 3-1 win over Watford, they have not convinced at all yet.
Arsenal have won twice in the Premier League but required a late penalty from Santi Cazorla to defeat the Saints on Saturday, while they have also lost 4-3 at home to Liverpool.
