Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos has reportedly indicated that the team doesn’t need Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe.
According to Forbes, the Germany international also discuss about his future at the Spanish capital as he publicly set a deadline for his contract renewal.
An important topic of discussion was Mbappe’s potential summer arrival to the Los Blancos team, following his own contract at PSG ending on the specified date.
“If he doesn’t even know, how can I know?,” Kroos said, in a nod to Mbappe’s previous comments that he has nothing to announce on his next destination.
A team that is presently leading La Liga by eight points and through to the Champions League quarterfinals does not necessarily need Mbappe, Kroos noted. Even though “we want the best players at Madrid,” with the 25-year-old “definitely one of them.”
“The important thing is to win things. It would be nice for Madrid, but I think we already have a good team,” Kroos stressed.
During a press conference to preview his eagerly anticipated comeback to the German national team following his retirement. Kroos noted that “last year we already decided and communicated it quite late.”
Following Germany’s 2-0 win over France in Lyon over the weekend, Kroos put on a masterclass against Les Bleus. TVE brought up the topic of Kroos’ potential extension or departure from the Bernabeu after 12 years.

In his response, the 34-year-old appeared to give himself a deadline before his current terms end on June 30.
“It’s the decision I have to make in the next one or two months at Madrid, and then we’ll see.”
