Kylian Mbappe has spoken out about the rape claims leveled against him earlier this season, following a trip to Sweden during the international break.
Rather than joining France, an injured Mbappe headed to Stockholm for a break from football, opting to focus on his health, but it was a move that appeared to irritate French fans.
However, while he was in Stockholm, a rape inquiry referenced the Real Madrid star following an alleged attack at the hotel where he was staying during the international break; he categorically denied any involvement.
The Swedish media had linked him to the incident despite the fact that no identities had been officially tied to the case, with the player and his legal representatives denouncing the claim as’slanderous’.
An inquiry into the alleged incident at the Stockholm hotel began in October.
The French captain has continued to deny the charges against him, and in an interview with Canal+’s Clique, he expressed surprise at the probe.
