Kylian Mbappé: ‘Can’t Wait’ For New Club After PSG Exit

Kylian Mbappé has stated that he “can’t wait” to sign with his next club after seven years at Paris Saint-Germain.

The France attacker has not specified where he will play next, although he is largely expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer when his contract with PSG expires.

“It’s going to be an amazing experience, and I can’t wait to join my new club,” Mbappé told CNN Sport. “For the first time, I’ll be leaving my home country for another league.

“I want to win trophies. When you talk about football, it’s about winning trophies and meeting new teammates. Now I have a contract with PSG… Everyone knows it’s almost over, and we’ll see what happens.”

Mbappé, who was named European Player of the Year in Tuesday’s Globe Soccer Awards European edition, came close to joining Madrid two years ago.

However, Mbappé had a late change of heart and signed a new contract with PSG until June 2024, something he says he does not regret.

“It was more than just staying at PSG,” he stated. “It was the World Cup in Qatar.” There were several things going on around these objects. It was a large, difficult decision, but I have no regrets.

“Of course, in a career, you have to make difficult decisions, which I did, but I became PSG’s all-time leading scorer. I only want to recall the best moments… It was a difficult circumstance, and I hope no one else has to go through it.”
