Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe has been left out of the France team for their forthcoming Nations League games against Belgium and Israel.
In Wednesday’s Champions League match against Lille, the former Paris Saint-Germain forward made his Champions League comeback after suffering a muscle injury. He played 33 minutes off the bench in that unexpected 1-0 loss.
Mbappe made a quicker-than-expected recovery, but the 25-year-old has been removed from Didier Deschamps’s squad list for this month’s matches, the first time in three years that he has failed to make the cut.
Due to a calf injury, Mbappe was last left out of a France team in September 2021, reports Sports Mole.
This month, with Antoine Griezmann’s international retirement, Mbappe is one of two offensive mainstays that Deschamps will not have at his disposal.
Christopher Nkunku of Chelsea, who has scored six goals in his first nine games of the 2024–25 season, replaces the Madrid forward.
This is Nkunku’s first national team call-up since June 2023.

In addition to Nkunku, who has yet to score his first goal for his country, Michael Olise of Bayern Munich and Ousmane Dembele of Paris Saint-Germain are also attacking options.
However, Dembele was not included in his team’s lineup for their Champions League defeat against Arsenal because of a recent altercation with Luis Enrique.
