Kylian Mbappe Reveals ‘The Mistake’ He Made At PSG

Kylian Mbappe finally joined Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain during the summer transfer window, ending one of the longest and most apparently inevitable transfer sagas in modern-day football.

Even as he broke records and performed with a litany of living luminaries, the France international captain had emerged as the most dazzling gem in an already ostentatious crown at the Paris-based club.

However, while his PSG contract went into the home straight, links with the Spanish powerhouses resurfaced since the player had never hidden his desire to play for Real Madrid in the future.

According to the Daily Mail, the 25-year-old has now spoken up about his exit from PSG, highlighting his thoughts on what went wrong at his previous team, his “obsession” with winning the Champions League, and his last remarks to the Emir of Qatar.

What Did Mbappe Say About His PSG Exit?

Mbappe stated,”PSG, the club meant a lot to me. I was there for seven years and it’s a really intense environment.

“I had seven years of fantastic life. I may have made a mistake by confusing things.

“I had conflicts with people, I defended my rights as a player, but that didn’t represent the club. I never mixed everything up with the players, the people at the Campus, the people on staff.”

Reports later indicated that Mbappe would really leave PSG at the conclusion of that season rather than have his contract renewed, which led to a rather contentious start to his final season.

Tensions started to build, and it didn’t help that he did not formally announce his departure at the conclusion of 2023–2024 through the club’s channels.

The 25-year-old also remarked about his feelings towards the PSG fan base after leaving the club.

“With the supporters, I could have been more expressive. They say to themselves “Kylian doesn’t care”. They think it was a hobby before going to Madrid .

“I still watch PSG matches. I know the club by heart. When they lose, I know how difficult it is. We have to talk about PSG, because it’s the club that sells. It’s PSG that feeds everyone.

“I’ve always kept this connection with PSG. It’s a relationship that can’t be cut off like that.”
