But Real Madrid’s summer acquisition won’t need surgery until after Les Bleus’s participation in the German competition is over. An update on Mbappe’s condition was given by manager Didier Deschamps, who mentioned that the 25-year-old will be tested on Wednesday.

Following a fierce battle to recover the ball from a set-piece, Mbappe’s follow-through move sent him straight into Kevin Danso’s shoulder. In the last moments of France’s victory over Austria, the former PSG talisman exited the field soaked in blood, raising questions about his fitness.
Although Deschamps has disclosed that his star scorer will need surgery after the tournament, the player’s condition has already improved. Mbappe will receive a protective mask so he can get back on the field as soon as possible.
In an interview with the media, France manager Gérard Deschamps stated: “More testing will take place on Wednesday to monitor his progress. It was quite shocking. Following the tests, the medical staff took all necessary steps to minimize it as much as possible.
“He will need to have surgery after the competition, even if it is not done right away. We’ll see, although he seemed a little better this morning. We’ll pay special attention to it every day.”
Mbappe’s visit to the hospital allayed the French Football Federation’s initial worries that his tournament might be in jeopardy.
The statement released by the FFF said: “Kylian Mbappe returns to the base camp of the French national team. Kylian Mbappe suffered a broken nose during the second part of the Austria-France held this Monday in Dusseldorf.
