La Liga have suspended an assistant referee for two weeks after he was too friendly with Barcelona players during El Clasico.
Pau Norbert Cebrian Devis did not officiate at any ground this weekend in Spain, and a refereeing committee has announced he will also sit out a second week after they were left unimpressed by his conduct at the Nou Camp.
Radio station Cadena SER have reported Devis was reprimanded for his conduct in the tunnel by the home changing rooms where, a report from the committee said, he had been talking to players before the game.
Real Madrid players did not launch an official complaint but were critical of referee Carlos Clos Gomez and his team in the aftermath of their top-of-the- table clash.
Real Madrid fumed at a number of decisions given against them during the 1-1 draw at the Nou Camp, as they were left to rely on a late header from Sergio Ramos to claim a point.
The league leaders had what they thought was a blatant penalty turned down after Javier Mascherano appeared to bring down Lucas Vazquez in the area, while they also felt Luis Suarez opened the scoring from an offside position.
The visitors weren’t the only team exasperated by some of the decision making, however.
Barcelona felt they should have been awarded a spot kick too when Jordi Alba’s cross was blocked by the right hand of Dani Carvajal.
