Barcelona have announced that the club made a profit of £86m in the previous financial year and expects to generate a profit of £240m next year.
The Catalan giants have just had one of the most eventful summers in their history, with the club needing to significantly improve their financial status to meet La Liga regulations.
Barcelona had to postpone the registration of several new recruits due to the financial cap in effect in Spain’s top flight.
Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie, who were previously free agents, had to wait their turn, as did Jules Kounde after Barcelona edged Chelsea to sign the French defender.
However, in addition to successfully engineering a number of player exits and wage cuts, Barcelona utilized ‘economic levers’ to improve their books even further.
This entails selling percentages of future television rights and media production unit Barca Studios to generate the revenue needed to meet La Liga’s criteria.
Barcelona have officially confirmed that they concluded the latest financial year with a profit of €98m (£85.79m), and that they expect that figure to rise in 2022-23.
“The Board of Directors has approved the budget for the 2022-23 season which includes an operating income budget of 1.255 billion euros, with a profit forecast of 274 million euros,” the club said in a statement.
“At the end of the previous season, the board closed the 2021/22 financial year with a turnover of 1.017 billion euros and a profit of 98 million euros.”
With Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Hector Bellerin, and Marcos Alonso joining Christensen, Kessie, and Kounde at Camp Nou, Barcelona have had a near-perfect start to the new domestic season.

Sixteen points have been earned out of a possible 18 in La Liga, keeping the team close to champions and rivals Real Madrid, who have a perfect record.
Barcelona have scored 18 goals in those encounters while conceding only one, which came in the early stages of their second meeting against Real Sociedad.
However, Barcelona is presently fighting for a place in the Champions League after falling to Bayern Munich 2-0 last week, leaving Xavi’s team level on points with Group C rivals Inter Milan ahead of their double-header following the international break.
