Barcelona is looking to add a new pivot midfielder and a new left winger, according to Barca Universal
To set the stage for the transactions in the upcoming weeks, the Blaugrana have already determined who their main targets are as well as potential backups for both positions.
One such player that Barça is interested in signing to bolster the left wing in the summer is Nico Williams.
Since last year, the Athletic Club and Spain winger has been on the Catalans’ radar and is still very much in the mix.
According to recent rumors from Gerard Romero, Nico Williams would reportedly be “excited” about the prospect of joining FC Barcelona in the summer.

The 21-year-old speedster already enjoys a cordial friendship with a number of the Barça players that he shares the Spanish national team’s changing room with.
In fact, Nico has developed a strong relationship with a number of players, including Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal.
The Athletic Club winger would thus find it appealing to join forces with his close pals at a storied team like Barcelona.
Nico Williams ink a fresh deal with Athletic Club in December of last year, which is valid through the summer of 2027.
It is also said that the new contract has a release clause of about €60 million, thus it is doubtful that his club will grant any kind of concession.
However, if they decide to pursue the Spanish international, they may have an easier time because of the player’s ambition to transfer to Barcelona.
