Lamine Yamal has promised the Catalan team his long-term future and stated that he would soon sign a new deal.
With a €1 billion ($1b) release clause, the 17-year-old’s contract is set to expire in 2026, but ESPN has previously revealed that an arrangement has been reached to keep him with the team until at least 2030.
“I don’t know when the contract will be signed, but I believe it will be soon,” Yamal told CNN.
“At the end of the day, Barça is the club of my life. I hope to renew my contract with them and to be with them for as long as possible.
After joining Barça in 2014 and rising through the academy, Yamal made his debut in 2023 at the age of 15, becoming the club’s youngest player ever.
Later that year, a new deal was reached, although the Spain international could only sign for three more years because of his age at the time.

But concurrently, a tentative agreement was negotiated with his agent, Jorge Mendes, for a lengthier contract to be finalized later.
Since making his senior debut over two years ago, Yamal’s career has flourished. He is a regular under Hansi Flick and has already made 72 appearances for Barça’s first squad, scoring 13 goals.
