On loan Tottenham Hotspur defender, Clement Lenglet is reportedly waiting for who the club want to appoint as manager before deciding if he will sign on a permanent deal or return to Barcelona.
The defender’s loan transfer would like to be made permanent, according to a Mundo Deportivo report. Which claims Spurs have already told Barcelona of their desire to do so.
For Tottenham, Lenglet has been a good acquisition. Given some of the other players Spurs had been associated with throughout the summer. It looked a touch lackluster when he came.
According to the same report, Tottenham seemed to be content with Lenglet. They reportedly notified Barca that they would like to sign him on a permanent basis.
The two clubs are yet to agree on a price. Lenglet cost the Catalan giants roughly £32 million to acquire. But given that he has been loaned out, it stands to reason that Spurs will be confident in coming to a viable decision with Barca.
There is still one more obstacle to overcome. Before approving a move, Lenglet, according to Mundo Deportivo, needs to know who will be Antonio Conte’s long-term replacement.

This is a very significant factor for a player whose future hasn’t been decided at a club. He might commit his future before a new manager arrives. And if he doesn’t fit in the bill of what the manager requires in a defender, he might be surplus to requirements.
This will obviously not augur well with a player who is willing to continue playing at the top-level.
