After Aston Villa’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, Marcus Rashford was one of the players who received a harsh rating from the French media.
The Villans lost 3-1 to the Ligue 1 champions and the Manchester United loanee could not do anything about it.
After 35 minutes, Morgan Rogers had put Villa ahead, but goals from Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes made sure Luis Enrique’s team turned their pressure into a first-leg victory. In the return match, Unai Emery’s team have a lot of work ahead of them.
According to The Mirror, Villa players were given a not so good review in the Champions League quarterfinal by L’Equipe, which is notorious for its brutal player ratings. The Premier League opposition’s performance left the outlet feeling dissatisfied.

Along with Ezri Konsa and John McGinn, Rashford received a score of 4/10. L’Equipe gave out some even harsher scores in celebration of the Parisian team’s victory.
Jacob Ramsey and Matty Cash earned ratings of just 3/10, with the latter brutally assessed. L’Equipe said: “The right-back had clearly been targeted as the weak point in Villa’s defense. And rightly so. Struggling from kickoff until his exit, he was unable to win a duel and showed signs of nervousness with the ball.”
At halftime, Cash was replaced, but his replacement did not perform any better. Axel Disasi, who was on loan from Chelsea, received a 3/10 as well.
Rogers and left-back Lucas Digne recorded 6/10 ratings, while Youri Tielemans, Boubacar Kamara, Pau Torres, and Emiliano Martinez all received 5/10 ratings.
