Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski has offered a confident dismissal of Arsenal ahead of the Champions League tie between the sides.
The German outfit are the strong favourites having come through numerous meetings between the teams in recent years and Lewandowski believes that as long as Bayern Munich play ‘their game’ then Arsenal will struggle to make much headway.
‘Everyone’s waiting for this game. It will be a big challenge for us. I hope we can deliver a good performance and play really well here in Munich,’ said the Polish striker ahead of Wednesday’s first leg at the Allianz Arena.
‘Arsenal have very good footballers. They know what it means to play in the Champions League. We need to concentrate on ourselves. If we play our game then Arsenal probably won’t get many chances. But we must play well from back to front.’
Seems like a simple enough plan.
Bayern Munich go into the game having won 10 of their last 11 games in all competitions while Arsenal have hit a rough patch of form that has seen their Premier League title bid falter.
