Tom Lewis says his game is suited to Montgomerie Maxx GC after he moved into an early share of the Turkish Airlines Open lead. World number 63 Lewis, who is chasing his third European Tour title, birdied six of his final seven holes on Thursday to surge up the leaderboard and into a share of the lead on -7 alongside Austrian Matthias Schwab. The Englishman, who has two top-10 finishes from his last four outings, started to roll the putts in on the back nine and he is hoping to keep that form going over the next three days. “I holed a lot of putts out there,” he said. “It just happened to be my back nine and I had good fun. The course suits me and hopefully I can make more tomorrow.” Schwab, who is searching for his maiden professional win, was also in a positive mood after making a fast start in Antalya, saying: “I’m just trying to give it my best, every time I tee it up, it seems to be working well the last few months but I have no recipe.” Sweden’s Alex Noren, Belgian Thomas Pieters and American David Lipsky are in a share of third on -6, one shot off the pace, while defending champion Justin Rose heads a group of six players on -5.
