His present contract in Florida expires in December 2025, after which he will decide on his future plans.

Messi will lead Argentina in the Copa America this summer, and he remains optimistic about competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

To reach that ambition, he will most likely need to extend his contract at Inter Miami, as the tournament begins just before his 39th birthday.

With the end of his career approaching, Messi revealed he has a fresh perspective on football and stated Inter Miami will be his ultimate destination.

“Inter Miami will be my final club.” I enjoy playing football. “I enjoy everything much more because I know there will be less and less of it,” according to ESPN, via Marca.

“It was quite difficult to leave Europe and come here (to the United States). Being a world champion aided me greatly in changing my perspective.

“I can now appreciate more, and I know I’m closer to retiring.”
