Seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi, may be on his way to David Beckham’s MLS team Inter Miami after beginning talks with Messi’s camp for a move.
Lionel Messi is anticipated to join Inter Miami on a free transfer when his Paris Saint-Germain contract ends in the summer of 2023.
According to The Athletic, Inter Miami expect the 35-year-old to join the club in the coming months despite no deal being agreed, with talks set to resume after the World Cup.
Where Will Messi Go To Next?
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is currently out of contract in the French capital at the end of the current season and has yet to finalise new terms with PSG.
Former club Barcelona have also been linked with a move to bring him back to Spain. However, it now appears he is set to head to the USA instead.

The MLS team, co-owned by former England captain David Beckham, are understood to have reached an advanced stage in negotiations with Messi.
As a result, they now expect him to arrive and sign for the club in the coming months.
Discussions between Messi and Inter Miami over a potential transfer have been ongoing for a number of years, with all parties now increasingly confident that now is the time for a deal to be completed.
Beckham’s fellow co-owners, Jorge and Jose Mas are leading the negotiations with Messi’s representatives and have held several meetings with his father, Jorge, in recent weeks.

No deal has been finalised yet, though, and talks are said to have now been put on hold until after the World Cup.
From January, Messi will be able to pen a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.
He would undoubtedly become the MLS’ most high profile player if he were to complete a move to Miami, where his family already own a property.
