Lionel Messi has been spotted enjoying some free time away from football with his family in the Alps.
The Argentine, who is still on a high after winning the World Cup with his country last month, was photographed in the mountains with his wife and three children.
They were observed soaking in the environment, exploring their surroundings, and relaxing in an outdoor pool.
Messi spent some time celebrating back home in his native Rosario after Argentina’s World Cup triumph in Qatar. He then returned to PSG and played in their Ligue 1 fixture with Angers on January 11 – scoring once in their 2-0 win.
However, he was left out of the squad for their 7-0 win over sixth tier side Pays de Cassel 7-0 on Monday in the French Cup.
And the 35-year-old has used the break to recharge by enjoying some time off in the Alps.
During his family’s trip, Messi was pictured looking pensive among stunning surroundings, while he also spent time with just his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo.
Roccuzzo is Messi’s childhood sweetheart, who he met at the age of just five. They have been together for several years and got married in Rosario in 2017.

Messi was also pictured playing in what seemed to be an outdoor pool with his kids, while the family also wrapped up warm in the cold conditions.
The forward is expected to be back in action on Sunday when PSG entertain Reims in Ligue 1.
Messi’s deal with PSG expires at the end of the season. And while it was expected he would extend his stay with PSG – reports broke yesterday that the forward is now considering his future in France and has concerns over signing a new deal.
