According to reports, Liverpool has struck a deal to sign Mark Burchill, the top scout for Bournemouth.
Burchill is expected to join the Reds as they get ready for the post-Jurgen Klopp era, even if a deal has not yet been finalized.
In the last few days, the team has named former Bournemouth transfer boss Richard Hughes as its sports director, while Michael Edwards has returned to his role as CEO of Football.
Burchill was instrumental in Bournemouth’s transfer business, helping to bring in players like Philip Billing, David Brooks, and Nathan Ake.

Liverpool now hopes to expand their hiring staff using his experience, as reported by Fabrizio Romano and The Telegraph.
Former Scotland international Burchill has represented teams in Cyprus and Thailand in addition to Celtic and Portsmouth.
Between December 2014 and December 2015, he managed Livingston for a year, leading them to victory in the Scottish Challenge Cup. However, he was fired when Livingston finished second in the Scottish Championship.
He was Hughes’s teammate when they were at Fratton Park.
If Liverpool get everything over the line, his arrival will signal Fenway Sports Group’s latest bid to improve their behind-the-scenes crew.
Michael Edwards, who was sporting director from 2016 to 2022 and was instrumental in their transfer policy in that time, is now the CEO of Football.
Meanwhile, Hughes is believed to be heavily influenced by ways of working at Barcelona and AC Milan – he is fluent in Italian and has an array of contacts in Serie A.
The latter trio all have ties to Liverpool. Solanke was regarded as a ‘flop’ at Anfield but Hughes saw his talents and took him to the Cherries.
