Liverpool Caught Off Guard As Bayern Munich Are Primed To See A Five-Year Contract Offer Accepted

Both Liverpool and Bayern Munich are firmly in the running to name Xabi Alonso as their next manager. By the end of the season, both Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel will be leaving their respective positions. If Bayern fails to defeat Lazio in the Champions League Round of 16, there has been conjecture that Tuchel may be fired early.

Right now, it appears that Liverpool will be the ones to get an agreement for Alonso.

Positive first discussions between the Reds and Alonso’s camp have led TEAMtalk to learn that three-year contract offer is being considered.

Alonso and Bayer Leverkusen have “verbal promise,” according to Sky Germany.

According to the internal contract, Alonso is free to leave the club THIS SUMMER if reasonable offer is made.

Without a release clause, Sky Germany reported that Liverpool would have to pay between €15 and €25 million to get Alonso to leave Leverkusen.

However, journalist Rudy Galetti asserts that Bayern will sink Liverpool in the race for a crucial transfer target, even though Liverpool appears poised to defeat Bayern for Alonso.

Could Klopp Be Denied His Ultimate Wish To Move?

Assan Ouedraogo, the Schalke sensation, was being evaluated by Liverpool, according to German reporter Florian Plettenberg back in October. The 17-year-old, who is regular for Germany’s Under-17 squad, has made waves this season in the Bundesliga 2. Because of his feet inches of height, Ouedraogo, sophisticated and strong central midfielder, has already been compared to Paul Pogba.

Team Talk states Pogba’s name has been marred by his late-career collapse and the four-year suspension that followed his doping incident. But it’s crucial to keep in mind that during the first few years of his career at Juventus, Pogba was one of the best central midfielders in the world and surefire starter for very successful French team.

“Jurgen Klopp, in particular, and Liverpool are keeping an eye on Assan Ouedraogo’s progress,” the Sky Deutschland reporter disclosed in October.

“The 17 y/o versatile midfielder from Schalke has a release clause in 2024. Clubs from abroad have to pay around €20m (£17m).”

On Monday, however, Galetti reported that Ouedraogo will be acquired by Bayern Munich.

Bayern Closes The Gap On German Pogba

“Bayern are advancing in talks with Ouedraogo,” said Galetti on X.

“The Schalke central midfielder – whose contract expires in 2027 – received a five-year proposal from Bayern and seems inclined to accept.

“RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are still interested in him, while no concrete move from Liverpool so far.”

It was unclear why Liverpool had not moved sooner. It’s possible that the Reds have lost interest in the player.

Alternatively, Plettenberg suggested that Liverpool’s interest was motivated by Klopp’s impending departure, which could play a role.
