Liverpool Complicates Tottenham’s Pursuit Of Dominic Solanke

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a top-tier striker has been hampered by Liverpool’s sell-on clause, which may have an impact on their pursuit of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.

Despite a good season in which Tottenham finished fifth in the Premier League under Ange Postecoglou, a world-class striker remains a major objective.

Solanke, who has been in excellent form for Bournemouth, is a major target for Tottenham. However, Liverpool’s involvement in his deal complicates matters.

Solanke, who joined Bournemouth in January 2019, was important for the Cherries last season, scoring 21 goals, 19 of which came in the Premier League. Reported By  Liverpool News.

His impressive performances have made him an appealing prospect for Tottenham, who are looking for a striker who can both lead the attack and allow Son Heung-min to return to his usual left side position.

How Liverpool complicated Tottenham’s pursuit of Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham’s pursuit of the 26-year-old striker is hampered by Liverpool’s 20% sell-on clause. When Solanke moved to Bournemouth, Liverpool retained a share in any future sale, allowing them to receive a portion of the transfer value.

This clause limits Bournemouth’s freedom in negotiating Solanke’s exit because they must acquire a big fee to meet Liverpool’s share while also achieving a profitable deal.

Bournemouth has reportedly stated that they will only consider selling Solanke if their £65 million release clause is satisfied. With Liverpool’s sell-on clause in place, Bournemouth must ensure that they cover the amount owing to Liverpool while still making a profit.
