Liverpool have reportedly been dealt another injury blow with Thiago Alcantara set to miss four weeks of action.
The Merseyside giants have had a difficult domestic season, currently sitting in 10th place in the Premier League standings.
While a number of key players have underperformed, Jurgen Klopp has faced selection challenges as a result of several significant injuries to key players.
Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have seen little action in the final third, while Virgil van Dijk hasn’t played since January 2 due to a hamstring injury.
Although a number of players have returned to training ahead of the Everton derby, Klopp revealed on Friday that Thiago was a major doubt for the game.
The Spaniard was said to have suffered a hip injury earlier in the week, keeping him out of training in the days leading up to the clash with their neighbours.
According to The Telegraph, Thiago will miss more than just Monday’s game at Anfield. The 31-year-old could be absent from the pitch until the middle of next month.
Up until March 15, Liverpool has eight games on the schedule, including two games against Real Madrid in the Champions League last 16.

During that time, Liverpool also have a trip to Newcastle United and a home game against Manchester United, both of which could be season-defining.
While Thiago is known to have had fitness issues in the past, he has made 22 starts and two substitute appearances in all competitions this season.
Fabinho, who missed the defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers due to illness, will be available for Klopp to use against Everton.
Jordan Henderson is also in contention to start after coming off the bench at Molineux, and both players could be recalled.
