Liverpool Duo Sent Message To Arne Slot After Securing Crucial Point Against Nottingham Forest

Liverpool came from behind to earn a crucial point against Nottingham Forest in Tuesday night’s Premier League match. The 1-1 draw allowed Arne Slot’s side to extend their lead at the top of the table ahead of Wednesday night’s games.

The Reds found themselves behind against Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying team after just eight minutes when Chris Wood finished off a counter-attack. Liverpool were left frustrated in the first half, as they failed to overturn the deficit at that stage. Reported By Manchester News.

Slot’s team did, however, draw level in the second half, owing to a rapid effect from two second-half substitutions who came on only minutes after entering the pitch.

Konstas Tsimikas set up Diogo Jota, who scored from a corner just seconds after replacing Ibrahima Konate. It was the striker’s fifth Premier League goal in 13 appearances, despite missing part of the season due to injury.

Following the game, both players proceeded to social media, where they appeared to convey a message to Slot, at least indirectly. Tsimikas initially posted a video of the goal on his Instagram story, followed by a photo of him celebrating the leveller with Jota.

Jota uploaded the same photo on his Instagram story, along with a brain graphic. Both will hope that their performance sends a message to Slot ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Southampton.

Slot discussed Jota after the game and the impact the forward made on the encounter. “He made a big impact already before, when he came in against Fulham,” stated the manager.

Slot went on to say, “But after that game, he had a bit of a setback, so I felt he needed a little more time to get into his rhythm in the games that followed.” You see that with other players who are out for a few weeks or months; it is difficult to get this intensity going in these Premier League games right away.
