Liverpool have reportedly joined the queue to make enquiry about the potential signing of Bayer Leverkusen defender, Jeremie Frimpong in the summer transfer window.
Throughout the previous season, Frimpong was among the best players in Europe. As a right-back, he amassed an incredible amount of goals and assists. And he also helped Leverkusen win their first-ever Bundesliga title—a feat they accomplished without losing a single game.
They also won the DFB Pokal as well as reaching the UEFA Europa League final which they lost to Atalanta.
Frimpong is starting to draw attention this summer. According to Sport Bild as cited by Caught Offside, Liverpool have sought information about him.
But negotiations have not gone further at this time. It also appears that Barcelona are vying with the Reds for the signature of the Netherlands international.
Even though Xabi Alonso is building a very promising team at Leverkusen, it may be difficult for him to keep hold of all of their star players. Jonathan Tah, for instance, is rumored to be eager to join Bayern Munich.
New Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, will undoubtedly be eager to make some adjustments to the team that Jurgen Klopp left behind.

One such change might be to shift Trent Alexander-Arnold into the midfield, freeing up space for Frimpong or a new right back for the team.
Barcelona, who never truly replaced the role of club legend Dani Alves as an attacking outlet down that right-hand side, may find the 23-year-old to be a wise addition.
