Liverpool are reportedly set to face fierce competition in the hunt for Fluminense midfielder, Andre Trindade with Fulham seriously looking at him as the ideal replacement for Joao Palhinha.
The 22-year-old midfielder is anticipated to make the move to Europe soon after being recognized as one of South America’s top players.
Many European top teams have been monitoring the player. But Liverpool are particularly interested in him after considering a summer transfer and now hoping to sign a contract in January.
The Merseyside giants, though, are giving defensive options priority, while Manchester United has simply inquired.
And in the race for Andre’s signature, Fulham have taken advantage of the chance to pull ahead of Liverpool.
According to the Evening Standard as reported by Inside Futbol, Fulham Chief Executive, Alistair Mackintosh jets to South America to speak directly to Andre and his representatives about the prospects of signing for the west London club. With a move in January highly likely because of Fulham’s plan to sell Palhinha to Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window.
Andre is eager to make the move to the Premier League during the winter window, and a £30 million deal is being considered.
The 22-year-old is someone Marco Silva likes, and he wants to get him into his team in January.
