Liverpool midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister has expressed his readiness for the coming days after sustaining an injury during his Argentina international assignment. During the last minutes of their 3-0 victory over Chile in their World Cup qualifying match, the Reds star was substituted.
Before late goals from Paulo Dybala and Julian Alvarez gave Lionel Scaloni’s team a four-point lead at the top of the group, Mac Allister had opened the scoring for the side. The 25-year-old reportedly had an adductor injury during the victory.
According to Liverpool Echo, the midfielder was compelled by the matter to skip his warm-ups for their match against Colombia on Tuesday night.
Luis Diaz, who is the star for Nestor Lorenzo’s side, may pit two Liverpool teammates against each other in this match. Mac Allister has dismissed concerns about his fitness, despite some doubts about it.
“Getting ready for what’s coming. Vamos @afaseleccion #TodosJuntos,” the 25-year-old posted on Instagram.
The Reds star was in good spirits while traveling across South America, despite fears about his injuries.
As Liverpool get ready to play again in the Premier League on Saturday, head coach Arne Slot will be closely monitoring the developments in Barranquilla.
