Liverpool Has Five Players At Risk Of UEFA Punishment Against PSG Tonight

Liverpool will be without three players for the Champions League round-of-16 second leg at home against Paris Saint-Germain, and another five might be suspended for the next round if they win tonight. The Reds received a boost when Cody Gakpo returned to open training on Monday, bolstering Arne Slot’s team. However, they are still missing three long-term absentees. Conor Bradley is currently out with a hamstring injury, while Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton will miss significant amounts of time after hamstring and shoulder surgeries, respectively. According to Express News.

Despite having no new injuries ahead of their second leg against PSG, Liverpool has many players on the verge of suspension. Captain Virgil van Dijk collected a yellow card at Parc des Princes and is now one booking away from a one-game suspension. Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson, and Harvey Elliott were all booked twice in this year’s Champions League before the trip to Paris.

Despite avoiding additional penalties last week, they remain on a disciplinary tightrope and are one yellow card away from a one-game suspension. Alexis MacAllister, who has already served a one-game penalty during the league phase, faces an additional suspension. The Argentina international has already been booked four times this season.

Players are suspended for one game after receiving three yellow cards that did not result in a red card, as well as any future odd-numbered cautions.

Ryan Gravenberch, Luis Diaz, Kostas Tsimikas and Darwin Nunez have all been shown the yellow card once in this season’s Champions League, meaning a further two bookings before the quarter-finals conclude would result in a suspension.
