According to TuttoAtalanta, Liverpool has identified Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman as a key target for the summer transfer season.
The Merseyside giants have had an outstanding season under manager Arne Slot. They are on track to win the Premier League, with a 12-point lead over second-placed Arsenal.
Regardless of this, Liverpool might have a busy summer. Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold might leave when their contracts expire on June 30.
Salah has been vital to the Reds, scoring 32 goals and assisting 22 in all competitions, and the club would be in a difficult situation if he left on a free transfer.
According to uttoAtalanta, Liverpool has long considered Lookman to be ‘the top of their market notebook’, although Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Newcastle United are also interested.

Quality
Lookman played in the Premier League for Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City, but he left little of an effect at any of them. He struggled with RB Leipzig, but his fortunes have changed after moving to Bergamo.
The Nigerian star has been a revelation for Atalanta over the previous two years. Lookman had 17 goals and 9 assists for the Serie A club previous season. He made headlines with an incredible hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final.
He has 18 goals and 7 assists this season, and he could play an important role in Atalanta’s Champions League qualification during the next two months. Regardless of this, Lookman has decided to pursue a new challenge.
The Charlton Athletic graduate has had a poor relationship with boss Gian Piero Gasperini this season and may prefer a new club. Liverpool could be the perfect destination for him. Lookman could be given the option to play anywhere in the attacking lineup.
Lookman has previously played as a striker or second striker for Atalanta, although he can also play on either wing. He has a Transfermarkt value of £46 million, and the Reds may have to pay something close.
