Liverpool Hit By New Injury Blow For Andy Robertson Ahead Of Ajax Match

Andy Robertson will be absent from Liverpool’s Champions League match against Ajax on Tuesday due to a suspected knee injury.

In the first match of their European season, Napoli defeated Jurgen Klopp’s team 4-1 in Italy with the left-back playing the entire game.

However, the Scotland skipper will not participate in the Group A match against the Dutch powerhouses at Anfield.

Robertson was wearing a knee brace on Sunday at the AXA Training Center, and it is reported that he will miss Tuesday’s match as a result.

Kostas Tsimikas will get the chance to fill in for Robertson on the left side of Liverpool’s back four.

Robertson is the latest setback for Klopp, who has already seen several of his important players go down just a few weeks into the new season. Konate, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Jones haven’t yet combined to play a single minute of game time.

However, there is at least hope that Fabio Carvalho will soon receive good news regarding his condition after suffering a dead leg in the Merseyside derby draw with Everton on September 3.

The length of Robertson’s expected absence from play is unknown at this time. Although, Klopp is scheduled to provide an update on the defender’s health when he meets with the media on Monday afternoon to discuss the upcoming game against Ajax.
