Liverpool are reportedly in contact with Real Madrid midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni over a possible January transfer move.
The Reds could use Los Blancos’ heavy interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold to gain ground in their negotiations for Tchouameni.
According to Liverpool Echo, the Premier League giants have contacted the player’s representatives earlier this month regarding a possible transfer.
According to reports, Madrid are prepared to accept bids and are open to selling the midfielder in the new year.
Various reports have stated that Madrid would want £50 million (€60m) for Tchouameni, which is less than the £68.3 million (€80m) plus £17 million (€20m) in add-ons they paid Monaco two years earlier.
The player reportedly had a deal in principle with Liverpool before deciding to play for Madrid rather than Merseyside, indicating Liverpool’s interest in him at the time.
In another report by Marca, given Madrid’s recent performance, Alexander-Arnold is now seen as a necessity.
Instead of waiting until the summer as was initially intended, right-back is now regarded as a priority position to fortify as soon as the January transfer window opens.

Although the Reds have no plans to sell any of their out-of-contract players, they admit that it will be challenging to make a move in the new year.
Alexander-Arnold is the only right-back Marca mentions, despite reports that Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been thinking about what they could add in the winter window to turn things around in recent weeks.
