Liverpool great Jamie Carragher has expressed his sadness with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s decision to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid after declining to prolong his contract, which is set to expire at the end of the season.
The Anfield crowd are understandably unhappy, but Carragher appears to be more concerned with how the move has developed than with the move itself.
Carragher believes Alexander-Arnold’s departure, particularly as a local player who grew up supporting Liverpool, is a disappointment. Reported By MJA News.
“There doesn’t appear to be one thing that people are upset about, whether it’s that he’s leaving for free or that he should have informed the club sooner. “People are upset about three or four different things,” he began adding.
Carragher is disappointed
Liverpool is a team that routinely competes for major trophies in the Premier League and Champions League, but the departure of a boyhood supporter and homegrown talent for Real Madrid raises concerns about his belief in the club’s future.
Carragher is disappointed because Alexander-Arnold does not appear to share his vision for Liverpool’s success.

“I’m not angry because he’s leaving for free. My point is that, as a local player and Reds fan, Liverpool is in a position to fight for the Premier League and the European Cup on an annual basis.
“So if you’re a Liverpool fan and a local player, I’m disappointed that he doesn’t think this is the way it is.”
Asking for improvement
Carragher also talked about the obstacles Alexander-Arnold would face at Real Madrid, especially in La Liga, which is recognized for its tactical and defensive demands.
The right-back has frequently been chastised for his defensive performances, and Carragher has cautioned that Real Madrid’s high expectations will put tremendous strain on him.
“If you play in the quarterfinals against Bayern Munich and let your team down with a couple of goals conceded, the pressure is going to increase,” according to him.
Real Madrid’s aspirations are unwavering, and Alexander-Arnold will need to strengthen his defensive skills to succeed at such a demanding club.
Mistakes in critical matches will be closely examined, and everyone expects the right-back to arrive at the club with a full understanding of the potential.
