Despite reports linking Luis Diaz with a move to Barcelona, Arne Slot maintains Diaz’s future is with Liverpool.
The Colombian midfielder has indicated no desire in leaving Anfield ahead of the Reds’ new season, which begins on Saturday against Ipswich. However, rumours persist that La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are interested in signing him.
Liverpool has received no approach from other teams over Diaz. While reports of interest from Manchester City were quickly dismissed earlier this week.

New manager Slot stated, “When I arrived in here, the screen had Sky Sports on, and the whole day is about football, so there is a lot of conjecture in this country. That is evident to me. It wouldn’t surprise me if you told me about Luis Diaz.
“His future is with us because I like what I’ve seen from him in the last ten days, and I saw the same thing last season. He’s had a significant impact on Liverpool’s seasons, and I hope he continues to do so in the coming season.”
Diaz joined Liverpool in January 2022 and is contracted till 2027.
Meanwhile, Slot has acknowledged that Liverpool was turned down by Martin Zubimendi, but he is not concerned that his squad is insufficient for his first season in command.
Despite providing hints that he was ready to quit Real Sociedad and head to Merseyside, the midfielder made a spectacular U-turn and decided to stay in Spain.
