Liverpool midfielder, Harvey Elliott has reportedly returned to full training to hand Arne Slot an injury boost ahead of the Reds’ crucial games against Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Due to a metatarsal fracture, the England Under-21 international has missed the last 14 games for the Reds across all competitions for the past two months.
Elliott, a former Fulham youngster, can play either slightly off the striker or in stead of Mohamed Salah on the right wing. So his absence has cost Slot a flexible option in the final third.
Under Slot, the 21-year-old has only played seven minutes of football thus far. He was an unused substitute against Manchester United and Ipswich Town. Though, he came off the bench in August’s 2-0 success over Brentford.
According to Sports Mole, Elliott was able to participate in a complete training session with the club’s Under-21 team on Monday. Therefore, putting him on pace to return following the November international break.
Elliott’s return coincides with a pivotal moment for Liverpool, who now lead the 36-team Champions League standings and hold a five-point advantage over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
