Liverpool Set To Be Without Star For The Next Two Matches

Liverpool have reportedly confirmed Alexis MacAllister will miss the team’s next two matches starting with the Merseyside derby against Everton.

In the Reds’ 3–3 draw with Newcastle United, the midfielder received his fifth Premier League booking of the season. According to the league rules, a player must serve a one-match suspension if they receive five yellow cards prior to their team’s 19th game.

As Arne Slot gets ready to oversee his first derby—the last one to be played at Goodison Park before Everton moves to their new stadium—he will be without the Argentina international. In addition, Mac Allister, who has already received three bookings, will not play for Liverpool against Girona in the Champions League next week.

“Alexis Mac Allister will be suspended for Liverpool’s trip to Everton this weekend,” said the club’s media team.

“The midfielder received his fifth yellow card of the Premier League season during the first half of Wednesday’s draw with Newcastle United.

“He will serve a one-match suspension as a result and miss the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime. Mac Allister is also suspended for the Champions League visit to Girona next week.”

The Reds may be missing seven players against Everton due to Mac Allister’s absence. Conor Bradley (hamstring) and Ibrahima Konate (knee) are already sidelined for a few weeks, and Kostas Tsimikas (ankle) is still out.

Diogo Jota has been sidelined for a comparable amount of time due to a rib injury. While Alisson Becker is not being hurried back from the hamstring problem that has kept him out for two months.
